My parents were photographers in the '30s and '40s in Chicago. Among their archival black and white photos I found many intriguing scenes that I wanted to translate into watercolor.

I muse about the various people in the old photos and their relationships. I find that delving into my parents' photos for subject matter is a way to connect me to their aesthetic and emotional sensibilities.
